Work From Home As An ESL Teacher (English As A Second Language)

Teaching English as a second is rapidly becoming a great work from home job opportunity for those who would like to work at home. There are several sites out there where you can apply to be a ESL teacher or you can start your own ESL home business. Take note that most sites where you can apply to be one will require you to have a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject and some require that you to have a TEFL Certification.

Want more info: Here are some websites and resources that will help you out

Italki – This is a great marketplace for teachers and students to meet. Depending on your credentials, you can register as a teacher or an informal tutor. You set your own hours and pay rate. Students book classes through the calendar system and the classes are held through Skype.

Google Helpouts – With Google Helpouts, you create your own specific classes (e.g, “45 minute ESL Phone Practice”) and set your own rate, and students will book those classes which interest them. The classes are conducted through Google Hangouts.

WizIQ – This is a web-conferencing website that allows teachers to create public classes that multiple students can join. It is more than just a website; it is also a community of dedicated teachers and highly motivated students.

ESL Employment – An ESL job board that always has a few listings from online companies.

  1. You can earn $20 for completing a 20 minute survey!

Guess what? This is exactly what large companies are paying me for. They need to know what their average customer needs and wants. So large companies pay $1,000,000's of dollars per month to the average person. In return, the average person, myself included, participates in surveys and gives them their opinion.
